  • Boston (December 3, 2021) - Today, GBH presents Holiday Music and Musings, a celebration of local talent during the month of December, bringing back free, in-person events to GBH’s Boston Public Library Studio. The series kicks off with a holiday performance by Jamaica Plain’s Sheffield Chamber Players and concludes with a Christmas country music set performed by local country star Ayla Brown on Thursday, December 16.
  • BOSTON (December 2, 2021) – GBH News today announced the launch of Talking Politics, a new weekly show that will take a deep dive into local politics, with a special focus on the 2022 Massachusetts gubernatorial race. Hosted by GBH News politics reporter Adam Reilly, the panel-based series will feature conversations with local political newsmakers, influencers, analysts and activists. GBH News City Hall reporter Saraya Wintersmith, Statehouse Bureau reporter Mike Deehan and politics editor Peter Kadzis will also be key contributors. Talking Politics debuts on Friday, December 3 at 7:00 p.m. on GBH 2 and streaming on the GBH News YouTube Channel.
  • BOSTON (November 22, 2021) – GBH News will continue a long-standing tradition of broadcasting its “Ask the Mayor” segment with new Boston Mayor Michelle Wu on Boston Public Radio on Tuesday, November 23 from noon to 1 pm ET. The city’s first woman and first person of color elected mayor will take questions from the audience and hosts Jim Braude and Margery Eagan one week after her swearing-in ceremony at Boston City Hall.   • BOSTON (November 15, 2021) – High School Quiz Show® has revealed the 17 Massachusetts high schools that will compete on Season 13 of the televised academic tournament from Boston public media producer GBH. These teams received the highest scores from among a total of 72 teams from across the state that participated in the program’s second virtual Super Sunday qualifying event. Among the schools are three first-time competitors, as well as defending champion Belmont High School.
  • BOSTON (November 15, 2021) – Public media organizations GBH and PRX announced today the appointment of Dan Lothian as executive producer of The World, public radio’s longest-running daily global news program. Lothian assumes the role of executive producer after serving as interim executive producer since March 2021.
  • BOSTON (November 12, 2021) – Signaling a new era for its popular local morning program, GBH has named Paris Alston and Jeremy Siegel as the new co-hosts of Morning Edition at GBH News. The two journalists will bring a fresh and contemporary energy to the show, reinventing GBH’s morning news experience while welcoming new voices and perspectives into a daily multiplatform news conversation.

This focused fundraising initiative is designed to support programs that amplify climate and environmental issues with an eye toward illuminating practical, equitable, and sustainable solutions to the current climate crisis.

Launching on October 5, The Big Quit: Why I’m Moving On, features stories from people who have found themselves questioning their work and personal lives during the pandemic and made bold choices to forge new identities.
