We’re not the kind of folks who lie, but the Drama Club kind of slept on The Durrells of Corfu until this, its final season. But we’re also not the kind of folks who don’t admit when they’ve made a mistake — and our neglect of this amazing show was definitely a big mistake. From Louisa Durrells (played by the super-awesome Keely Hawes) and her complete fulfillment of#momgoals, to Alexis Georgoulis and the enchanting environs of Corfu. We’ve utterly adored falling in love with this show, and we know you will, too,

Lucky for us all, the show is available on WGBH Passport, straight through to the season finale.

This season, one of the characters to come forward and impress us the most was the only daughter of the family, Margo. While she has always been a bit impetuous, and a delightful comic relief, this season sees her stepping up to become a full-realized version of herself. Taking on her first big role with aplomb is the amazing Daisy Waterstone. Wanting to learn more about the young actress, we did a little research.

1. Waterstone is the daughter of film producer Rosie Alison (Paddington franchise, The Boy in the Striped Pajamas, and the upcoming The Secret Garden), and bookshop chain founder Tim Waterstone.

2. Previous to the Durrells, Waterstone appeared in 2014’s And Then There Were None and a two episode arc of Silent Witness – but Durrells was her first major role.

3. Waterstone loves photoshopping her friends—including co-stars Callum Woodhouse and Josh O’Connor— into musicals and sticky situations.

4. She’s such a big fan of the video game Two Dots, she once sent them a complaint letter after getting stuck on a level—and they responded!

5. A true child of the 90’s, Waterstone has a soft spot for The Simpsons – you’ll see it everywhere from her Instagram to her fashion.

6. And speaking of Keeley Hawes, Waterstone credits the older actress with settling her into being an actor by always treating her like a fellow professional.

7. And Waterstone feels equally kindly toward her character. “She’s taught me how to give life a go and not worry about making mistakes.” Waterstone has said that she often feels like Margo’s her sister, and wishes she could give her advice.

8. To get to know the character better, Waterstone has met with the real Margo’s granddaughter several times, and says that playing a real life person makes her feel “huge responsibility.”

9. And, much like Margo, Waterstone turns to water when she wants to relax – though she’s more of a swimmer than a sun-bather!

10. She does have a lively streak similar to that of her character Margo—Waterstone has also jumped into the occasional burlesque dance class with her friends!
