Gov. Charlie Baker reassured a skittish public about vaccine access and looked ahead at what a new economy will look like after the pandemic.

The protests there are a political migraine for the Baker family and their neighbors — and they're taking a toll on the town.

"The whole thing makes me sick," Baker said of President Donald Trump's actions.

The Republican governor also decried President Trump's efforts to overturn the election results.

At the heart of the new law is the creation of the Massachusetts Peace Officer Standards and Training Commission as an independent state entity with the power to establish policing standards.

The governor is urging people to avoid gatherings for the New Year's holiday.

Gov. Charlie Baker said restaurants, retailers and other small businesses hurt by the pandemic will be eligible for grants.

Capacity limits for most businesses and places of worship will go down to a maximum of 25%.
