You must be at least 16 years of age and must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Volunteers aged 18 and older may come on their own.
Generally, volunteer opportunities take place here at GBH (One Guest Street in the Brighton neighborhood of Boston). We also need volunteers for GBH-sponsored events that take place in the communities we serve.
GBH is easily accessed by bus, bike, or car. Get directions and parking information.
No, we do not currently offer volunteer opportunities in production. However, if you are a college student, you may apply for an internship.

A member of our volunteer office will contact you via email if we have an opening that matches your interests and qualifications. So in signing up, you'll want to include a valid email address, and then make sure you check it frequently. Unfortunately, due to the heavy volume of volunteer applications, we are unable to make individual phone calls to volunteers as positions arise.
Certain volunteer opportunities are open to groups. Please have one person from your group or organization fill out our volunteer sign-up form. When we are looking for groups to fulfill a volunteer opportunity, we will note it in our recruitment email. Groups are most often welcome for GBH events and on-air fund drives.
We occasionally have opportunities to promote other nonprofits through our on-air fund drives. Please review the
TV pledge volunteer position for more information. You also may choose to support GBH as a
Business Member Partner.
We are happy to work with you on an individual basis to fulfill a community service requirement, as long as you can meet the requirements of the GBH volunteer position. Please note that many of our volunteer positions are one-time opportunities and may not meet the needs of a community service requirement.
