Supporting Local Arts News and Programming

Bringing arts and culture programming to the public has been a vital part of GBH’s mission throughout its history. In fact, our very first broadcast on October 6, 1951 was a live performance of the Boston Symphony Orchestra. We are committed to allowing all audiences access to offerings that foster community and inspire and spark curiosity and creativity.

The GBH Arts and Culture Fund will sustain and expand on GBH’s legacy in arts programming from our local daily program The Culture Show to the nationally broadcast Stories from the Stage to classical music programming on 99.5 Classical CRB . Fund gifts will also provide support to address the decline in regional arts coverage with new programming and initiatives showcasing Greater Boston’s and New England’s talented artists, musicians, performers and makers and the organizations that support their work.
