When we talk about food in November, we’re really talking about one day: Thanksgiving. For this month’s You & Julia Challenge, we asked our fans to show us their best New England side dishes. The challenge was kicked off by Puritan & Co’s Will Gilson, a 13th-generation Mayflower descendant, who showed us his Julia-inspired Bacon & Oyster Stuffing. Here are our favorite fan submissions.
Best Presented: John B.
John says: “Miss Bailey's favorite Turkey Day 'side dish' - Warm turkey drippings on her dry food!”
Our judges: “Automatic extra points for the drooling puppy!”
Best Effort: Shannon H.
Shannon says: “I made Will’s bacon oyster stuffing with my pasture raised turkey and apple cider gravy!”
Our judges: “Awesome job taking on this specific month’s challenge!”
One We Most Wanted To Try: Max T.
Max says: “Garlic Mashed Potatoes from Mastering the Art of French Cooking by Julia Child — Julia advises two WHOLE heads of garlic for every 2.5 pounds of potatoes. What a rewarding advice!”
Our judges: “’There’s too much Garlic’- said no one ever.”
Stay tuned for future
