Celebrating Pride
Prism
For decades, staff who identify as LGBTQ+ have gathered at GBH to share personal stories, support one another, and create a safe space. In 2022, GBH created Prism, an Employee Resource Group (ERG) for LGBTQ+ employees and allies to foundationally acknowledge and champion this community. Prism is a safe, supportive and celebratory space for our LGBTQ+ community and the allies who support them. We provide a network to exchange ideas and support the professional development of our LGTBQ+ colleagues, as well as recruitment and retention efforts. We collaborate with leadership on policies and practices that positively impact LGBTQ+ colleagues.

We amplify initiatives that uphold the Foundation’s commitment to ensuring that our content, internal programming, employee growth and development, and community engagement are built around an inclusive and equitable model. Prism members work in partnership with the Office of Inclusion & Equity to encourage LGBTQ+ employee feedback, and share ideas, and suggestions for enhancing workplace culture. The Outrage of Danny Sotomayor
Danny Sotomayor was a man on a mission. The fiery openly gay AIDS activist, political cartoonist, and organizer took to the streets, using civil disobedience to wage war on city officials who marginalized the LGBTQ community and largely ignored the AIDS crisis – all while fighting a losing battle with the disease himself. The Outrage of Danny Sotomayor profiles this hero who wouldn’t take no for an answer, and who channeled his rage and pain into a movement to effect positive change.
