  • Ari Ezra Waldman is Associate Professor of Law and Director of the Innovation Center for Law and Technology at New York Law School (NYLS) and an Affiliate Scholar with Princeton University’s Center for Information Technology Policy. Professor Waldman is the Founder and Director of NYLS’s Data Privacy Project, a locus of student-faculty cross-disciplinary research on notice and choice, privacy and design, and trust and disclosure. He is the founder and director of the Institute for CyberSafety, a research and direct services initiative that includes, among other things, the first and to date only law school clinic providing free counsel to victims of cyberharassment. Professor Waldman is a nationally recognized expert on data privacy and cyberharassment. He recently appeared as an expert on Syfy’s “The Internet Ruined My Life,” a six-episode miniseries on privacy and cyberharassment. Professor Waldman holds a Ph.D. in sociology from Columbia University, a J.D. from Harvard Law School, and a B.A., magna cum laude, from Harvard College and has published work in many leading law reviews.

  • Arjun Dey, Ph.D., Astronomer NSF National Optical-Infrared Astronomy Research Laboratory (NOIRLab) J.S. Guggenheim Fellow, 2021; member, Dark Energy Spectroscopic Instrument (DESI) project. Arjun Dey’s research focuses on how galaxies form and evolve, and what they can tell us about the mysterious, invisible contents of the universe: dark matter and dark energy. One of his early projects uncovered the first galaxy observed at a redshift greater than 5 (i.e., with a light travel time of more than 12.5 billion years). He is a core member of the Dark Energy Spectroscropic Instrument (DESI) survey project, the largest cosmic cartography project ever undertaken.
  • Arjun Singh is a producer for Boston Public Radio. A California native, Arjun moved to Boston to study international relations at Boston University. Prior to working at WGBH, Arjun worked at a tech company and for a political campaign.
  • Arjun Singh joined the Washington Post in 2020, as an audio producer focused on politics. Before joining the Post, Singh worked at the NPR affiliate WGBH in Boston, where he produced the show "Boston Public Radio," and reported on politics. At WGBH, Singh reported on the 2020 Democratic presidential primaries, produced the first debate between Senator Ed Markey and Representative Joe Kennedy during the 2020 Massachusetts Senate race, and has written articles about state and local politics in Massachusetts and Boston.
  • Dr. Arlene Ackerman has served in public education for more than 30 years and is currently serving as Superintendent Emeritus, San Francisco Unified School District until 2006. She arrived in San Francisco in 2000 and under her leadership, the district has thrived experiencing five consecutive years of improved achievement for all groups of students while also holding the distinction of the highest performing large urban school district in the state of California for the last two years. In fall 2006, Dr. Ackerman joined the staff at Columbia University's Teachers College holding the prestigious Christian A. Johnson endowed chair and serving as a professor of practice. Dr. Ackerman has received numerous honors and awards, including appointments to the President's Board of Advisors on Historically Black Colleges and Universities, the College Board's Commission on Writing in America's Schools and Colleges, and the National Teaching Commission. Academic awards include Uniquely University City Award for Outstanding Service, Iota Lambda Sorority's Apple for the Teacher Award, Harris Stowe Teachers College's Distinguished Alumni Award, and the Harvard Urban Superintendents Program's McDonnell Douglas Fellowship. Dr. Ackerman received her doctorate in administration, planning and social policy through the Harvard Graduate School of Education, Urban Superintendents Program. She holds a Master of Arts in Education from Harvard University, a Master of Arts in Educational Administration and Policy from Washington University, St. Louis, MO and a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education from Harris Stowe Teachers College.
