Vanessa Brown

Chief People Officer

Vanessa Brown has over 20 years of experience in people development and operations across many industries including media, technology, and education. She began her career as a principal at two start-up technical recruiting firms before transitioning to broader leadership roles in high-growth organizations, including NESN, New England’s regional sports network and home of the Boston Red Sox and the Boston Bruins.

Vanessa’s specialty is in scaling talent infrastructures and workplace initiatives to position organizations for transformation and growth. Recognized by past colleagues as a trusted advisor, coach, and consensus builder, Vanessa is known for creating and leading strategic, cohesive teams. She is passionate about leveraging data to drive actionable insights and inform critical business decisions, and focuses on cultivating partnerships, investing in people, and driving impactful change across organizations.

In her career, Vanessa has served on several boards, including the Greater Boston Chamber of Commerce Women’s Network Advisory Board and NEADS, (National Education for Assistance Dog Services) an organization that raises service dogs for individuals with disabilities and veterans with PTSD (post-traumatic stress disorder).

Vanessa holds a BA in Psychology and English from the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth and an MA in Organizational Psychology from Columbia University.
