Tyler Florence
cook, writer
A graduate of the prestigious culinary program at Johnson & Wales University, Tyler Florence began his professional career working under some of New York City’s most respected chefs including Charlie Palmer at Aureola and Marta Pulini at Mad 61, eventually becoming executive chef at Cafeteria where he attracted the attention of the Food Network. Fifteen years later, he is still a Food Network star famous for championing simplicity, freshness, and culinary honesty in cooking. He has starred in such series as *How to Boil Water*, his cooking show for novices; *Food 911*, his hugely popular "recipe rescue" show; as well as his signature series, *Tyler's Ultimate*. He is also a regular guest on *The Today Show*, *CNN*, *The View*, *The Tonight Show*, *Oprah*, *Access Hollywood*, *Extra*, *Good Morning America*, among others. In June 2010, Florence opened his first signature restaurant, Wayfare Tavern, in San Francisco's Financial District and is set to open the historic El Paseo in Mill Valley in the Fall. In his newest book, *Tyler Florence Family Meals*, he embraces the notion that, when it comes good food and fine dining, there is no place like home.
