Sheldon Mirowitz

Composer and Berklee Professor

Sheldon Mirowitz is a composer for film and television. He has been nominated three times for an Emmy Award for Best Music, and his scores have been a part of many award-winning films and TV shows, including the Oscar-nominated feature documentary Troublesome Creek, winner of both the Grand Jury Prize and the Audience Award at Sundance, the Peabody Award-winning mini-series Odyssey of Life, and the Emmy-winning PBS series RX for Survival.  His film credits include the Miramax comedy Outside Providence (written and produced by the Farrelly Brothers), the four-hour Hallmark mini-series, Johnson County War (written and produced by Larry McMurtry, starring Tom Berenger), and Missing in America (starring Danny Glover, David Strathairn and Ron Perlman), among many others. He has written theme music for networks ranging from MTV to The History Channel, and has scored hundreds of commercials, including award-winning work for clients such as Kodak, Converse, UPS, Reebok, and AT&T. In addition to composing, he serves on the Faculty at Berklee College of Music, where he is a Professor in the Film Scoring Department.  His Berklee Silent Film Orchestra is considered one of the premier silent film music organizations in the world.
