Otto Cordero’s research field is Theoretical Biology and Bioinformatics, but he also has degrees in computer engineering and computer science. His computational background has been beneficial to his research on the highly complex mechanisms of microbial ecosystems –a field of great interest today, given the increasing necessity to understand the microbial foundation of life on this planet.
