Michael Winship
president, WGA East
After graduating from Georgetown University with a degree in government, Michael Winship thought he'd have a career as a political operative -- until he burned out working on the George McGovern campaign in 1972. He then moved into newspaper writing and public relations and landed at Channel 13 in New York City as a publicist for Bill Moyers. Winship ended up working as a writer on his shows off and on for the next four decades. In 2004, the two of them won a Writers Guild Award in the commentary category for 'Wall Street Scoundrels,' an episode of *Now With Bill Moyers*.
