Michael Greenberg is the author of the memoir *Hurry Down Sunshine*, about his teenage daughter's sudden descent into bipolar mania. *Beg, Borrow, Steal: A Writer's Life*, a collection of essays, was published this fall. A native New Yorker, he is also a columnist for the *Times Literary Supplement* (London), where his wide-ranging essays have been appearing since 2003. His fiction, criticism, and travel pieces have been published in such varied places as *The New York Review of Books*, *O*, *The Oprah Magazine*, *Bomb*, *The Village Voice*, and *The Boston Review*. *Hurry Down Sunshine* was named among the "Best Books of 2008" by *Time*, *Library Journal*, *The St. Louis Post-Dispatch*, and *Shelf Awareness*, and the "Best Memoir of 2008" by Amazon.com. It received a Ken Book Award from the National Alliance on Mental Illness for an "outstanding literary work contributing to better understanding of mental illness," and was an Indies Choice Honor Book Recipient. It is available in hardcover from Other Press. A paperback edition is forthcoming in 2009 from Vintage Books.
