Mark Springer

Mark Springer is the principal at Mason-Rice Elementary School in Newton Centre. Having earned a BA from Bucknell University, and an MEd from Lesley University, Mark was first destined for the classroom, teaching grades 1, 2, 5, and 6 before accepting his first post as principal at Avery Elementary School in Dedham in 1990. In 1995, Mark accepted the position of principal at Mason-Rice. In January 2007, Mark was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma. Thanks to his medical team at Massachusetts General Hospital, the love and encouragement of his wife Nancy and their two children Michael and Anna, and the support of countless family members, friends, and the staff and students at Mason-Rice Elementary School, Mark has been in remission for two years.
