Marcus Hu is the co-president of Strand Releasing, which was formed in 1989 with a goal to fuse quality art films with commercial product. Strand Releasing was honored with a 10 year retrospective at the New York Museum of Modern Art curated by Laurence Kardish. Partners Jon Gerrans and Marcus Hu were honored with a lifetime achievement award for Strand Releasing's accomplishments in 2002 from Outfest, the Los Angeles Lesbian and Gay Film Festival. Strand Releasing has produced or executive produced 10 feature films including Gregg Araki's The Living End, Richard Glatzer's Grief, and Tommy O'Haver's Billy's Hollywood Screen Kiss.
