Kenrick Mercado

Associate Producer

Kenrick Mercado is the Associate Producer for Basic Black at GBH. Kenrick started his media career at KQED for Essential Pépin and Check, Please! Bay Area. After graduating in broadcast media from San Francisco State University, he joined the Oakland Athletics’ broadcast team, then the KPIX news team in San Francisco for CBSN Bay Area. Before working in media, Kenrick trained as a chef and now seeks to combine his love for food and storytelling by reporting on food justice and food insecurity issues, as well as share the food culture from his Filipino heritage.
