Joel Z Hyatt graduated from Dartmouth College and Yale Law School. In 1977 he and Susan Hyatt co-founded Hyatt Legal Services, a law firm that helped revolutionize the distribution of legal services by making legal care affordable and accessible to middle and lower income families. Hyatt twice has been included in the list of 100 most powerful lawyers in the US by the *National Law Journal*. In 1994 he was the Democratic Nominee for the US Senate in Ohio. He has been a lecturer at the Stanford University Graduate School of Business and Stanford University School of Law. Hyatt is the co-founder with Al Gore of Current TV, an Emmy award-winning media company that blends user-generated content, professionally produced content, citizen journalism, and viewer participation. He serves on a number of boards, including Hewlett-Packard, Morehouse College, and the Brookings Institution.
