James Levy

Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer

As Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer, James Levy oversees all financial functions of GBH including accounting, financial planning & analysis, compliance, financial operations and treasury. Levy also manages Facilities, GBH’s Production Group, which provides video editing and studio production services, and Media Access Group, which provides captioning and descriptive video services. He is a key partner to the CEO, COO and Board of Trustees in assessing strategic opportunities and new business initiatives.

Levy joined GBH in 2015 as Director of Financial Planning and Analysis, was promoted to Vice President in 2019 and was named Chief Financial Officer in 2023. Prior to GBH, he worked at The Boston Globe for twelve years. During his tenure, he was involved in the launch of bostonglobe.com and played the lead finance role in the sale of the Globe by The New York Times.

Levy holds a BA in Economics from Bates College and an MBA and a Master's in Environmental Management from Yale University.
