Carl Ferenbach

Cofounder and Managing Director of Berkshire Partners

Carl Ferenbach is the cofounder and Managing Director of Berkshire Partners. Prior to that, he was a Managing Director of Merrill Lynch, where he headed its Mergers and Acquisitions Department. Ferenbach has served as the Chairman of the Board of the Environmental Defense Fund since 2008, and as a board member since 2000. He founded the High Meadows Foundation and the High Meadows Fund in 2004, both of which address environmental sustainability and support organizations and programs committed to a better environment. Ferenbach is a trustee of Princeton University and serves on the Board of Dean’s Advisors at Harvard Business School.
