Thousands of people from around New England demonstrated in Boston on Sunday, February 27, 2022 to show their support for Ukraine and the Ukrainian people in their battle against Russia’s recent invasion. The gathering began in the Public Garden before demonstrators marched through Back Bay and the Boston Common en route to the State House. Many waved the blue and yellow Ukrainian flag and sang the country's national anthem while others held up signs voicing their support and condemning Russia’s actions — and in particular, those of Russian President Vladimir Putin.

“My parents and friends are all there," said Kateryna Slovodian, who is from Ukraine and attended the rally. "I’m so proud of how strong they are, how strong our spirit, and there is nothing, nothing that Putin can do that will change that. We are unbreakable.”
