While die-hard fans of state politics may keep tabs on big developments at the State House, Boston City Hall and elsewhere all year round, most ordinary people don't. And if you're at all inclined to take a break, summer is a natural time to do it, partly due to the fact that things do tend to slow down a bit.
The news never really stops, however — which is why, in this Talking Politics segment, we offer a recap of big stories much of the population may have missed in recent weeks, as well as a preview of major developments to come after Labor Day.
