Boston Mayor Michelle Wu was dealt a blow this week when a court temporarily halted her vaccine mandate for city employees from going into effect. But some argue she's still winning the bigger battle.

This week on Talking Politics, host Adam Reilly is joined by the Bay State Banner's Yawu Miller and UMass Dartmouth's Shannon Jenkins to discuss the vaccine mandate, their disappointment with the latest voting rights legislation in the State House, Gov. Charlie Baker's final State of the Commonwealth address, and another candidate in the race for governor: Republican businessman and self-described moderate Chris Doughty. In the age of Trump, will that pitch still work?

And nearly two years into the pandemic, many parents and caregivers of kids under 5 are feeling left behind and, in some cases, forgotten. What more could policymakers be doing to help them stay afloat — both economically and psychologically? Reilly is joined by GBH News' Craig LeMoult and Gladys Vega, of La Colaborativa, to discuss.
