Jennifer Horn, the former chair of the New Hampshire Republican Party, said on Boston Public Radio Thursday that she thinks a Democrat should inhabit the Oval Office in 2021.
“We have a man who is holding the position of leader of the free world who has no respect or concern for the constitution and the limits it places on executive power,” Horn. “[Trump] consistently puts his own personal, political and financial ambitions ahead of the good of the country.”
Rather than sit on the sidelines of the 2020 presidential election, Horn and other prominent Republicans created The Lincoln Project, a political action committee dedicated to defeating not only President Donald Trump, but congressional Republicans who have loyally defended the president’s actions.
Horn said she believes that there is a large swath of conservative Americans who want Trump out of office, and can be activated during the general election to vote him out of office.
“I am convinced ... that there are millions of Americans like myself who are either Republicans, former Republicans, right-leaning independents, who believe as we do that Donald Trump is not a conservative. That he is not a Republican. And more importantly, that he is a clear and imminent threat to the republic.”
