The Democratic National Convention opened Monday night fully virtual, with condensed speeches from party stars, and without the traditional chaos that comes from throngs of delegates on the convention floor.

Steve Kerrigan told Boston Public Radio on Tuesday that while he missed the applause and excitement from previous conventions, the increased production value led to a much clearer message from speakers and the party as a whole.

Steve Kerrigan is CEO of the Edward M. Kennedy Community Health Center, and former CEO of the Democratic National Convention.
