BOSTON (AP) — Massachusetts Gov. Charlie Baker is urging members of Congress to give special counsel Robert Mueller a chance to testify on Capitol Hill before deciding whether to impeach President Donald Trump.
The Republican Governor told reporters Wednesday that he hopes Mueller will testify before Congress if asked.
Baker said people should listen to what Mueller has to say about his own report before discussing what actions they should take against Trump.
Baker said he shares comments made by former Republican Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney about the contents of the report. Baker said the report revealed what he called "the appalling and sickening behavior of the president and the White House" on many issues.
Sen. Elizabeth Warren and Rep. Ayanna Pressley, both Massachusetts Democrats, have called for impeachment proceedings against Trump.
