If the House of Representatives impeaches President Donald Trump, presidential candidate and Colorado Sen. Michael Bennet will most likely vote to convict the president during his trial in the Senate. During an interview with Boston Public Radio on Tuesday, Bennet said that he believes enough evidence has been presented to him and the public to merit Trump’s removal from power.

“I think if the evidence is consistent and continues to be consistent, I think it’s likely that that’s how I will vote,” Bennet said.

Unlike many other candidates, Bennet was reluctant to call for Trump’s impeachment at the outset of the race. However, after the release of former Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s report into Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election, Bennet said he saw sufficient grounds for impeachment.

“I wouldn’t describe myself as late [in calling for Trump’s impeachment]. I’d describe others as being early. I think it’s important for us to follow the rule of law and to follow due process,” Bennet said. “I’ve said since I read the Mueller report that I thought ... the president has committed impeachable acts.”
