Chuck Todd, the moderator of Meet The Press, host of Meet the Press Daily on MSNBC, and the political director for NBC News, told Boston Public Radio Thursday that the problems former Vice President Joe Biden has faced thus far in his campaign seem inconsequential compared to those of his potential opponent, President Donald Trump.
"Biden shouldn’t even be running, and I think even Biden would say that. He is only running because of Trump," Todd said.
Todd said that if Trump were not the Republican candidate, Biden would not have run. But, Democrats will do whatever they think they have to do in order to beat Trump in 2020, Todd said.
"Biden really should of already fallen, except there’s a whole bunch of nervous Democrats who think the way you are going to get rid of an old white guy — I’ve heard this from African-American voters — the only way you are going to get rid of that old white guy, is to run another old white guy against him. There’s a lot of voters who think that," Todd said.
