Massachusetts Democrats:  In their party platform, Massachusetts Democrats state their support for spending state revenues to support local wellbeing, saying, "responsible investments today will provide positive outcomes in our communities for years to come." 

Massachusetts Republicans:  According to their party platform, "The Massachusetts Republican Party believes that excessive taxing and spending by state government adversely affects economic prosperity and that smaller, less intrusive government is the preferred path for the Commonwealth." Instead, they argue that cutting taxes and excessive regulations will allow for local economic development.
