Sam Turken is the Worcester reporter for GBH News, covering housing, the environment and other social justice and economic issues.
Previously, Sam was a reporter with WHRO Public Media in Norfolk, Virginia, where he focused on housing insecurity and climate change. He has also reported for WBUR in Boston, WLRN in Miami, and podcasts by Gimlet and Wondery. He enjoys covering quirky issues like a “haunted” road and hard-to-read highway signs. His reports have aired nationwide for NPR shows, such as All Things Considered, Morning Edition and Here & Now.
