Today on Boston Public Radio:
We aired live audio from President Joe Biden’s inauguration and spoke with listeners about their impressions of the ceremony.
Callie Crossley offered her own take on Wednesday's inauguration ceremony, from the reading of an inaugural poem by 23-year-old Amanda Gorman to former President Donald Trump's decision to opt out of attending. Crossley is the host of GBH’s Under the Radar and Basic Black.
Juliette Kayyem explained why she’s not expecting the thousands of National Guard troops to remain in Washington, D.C. for long after Biden’s inauguration and offered thoughts on the path toward unity in American politics. Kayyem is an analyst for CNN, former assistant secretary at the Department of Homeland Security and faculty chair of the homeland security program at Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government.
We ended Wednesday’s show by returning to listeners, hearing their takes on Wednesday’s inauguration and the close of Trump’s presidency.
