Chuck Todd, host of "Meet the Press Daily" on MSNBC, spoke with Boston Public Radio on Thursday about police reform being passed by legislatures.
"I think you do this piecemeal, because these are going to be difficult coalitions to build in order to get these things passed," he said. "Do you go for a symbolic messaging bill that loses in order to have a wedge issue in the fall, or do you try to do some piecemeal work and see what you get done?"
Reform will need take a bipartisan approach, Todd noted.
"In the Republican senate there are going to be a handful of allies for some police reform, including people like Rand Paul," he said. "So you can find an interesting left-right-liberatarian coalition on some of these reforms if you're tactical about it."
