Chuck Todd, host of "Meet the Press Daily" on MSNBC, spoke with Boston Public Radio on Thursday about passing the 100,000 coronavirus death count in the United States.

"We're being conditioned to live with this constant state of death in this country," he said. "What's hard about this is we're not done yet, and what if we hit 200,000 deaths, are we going to have the same conversation?"

The death count continues to rise, Todd said.

"Over Memorial Day, 3,400 people died from the coronavirus. So over the long weekend we had another 9/11, just wanted to put it into perspective."
