Television expert Bob Thompson spoke with Boston Public Radio on Wednesday about the series finale of NBC's sitcom "The Good Place."

"This is one of those shows that if you stumble onto it, it doesn't immediately look like all these serious programs we talk about," Thompson said. "But, it's about ethics, philosophy, and it is really consistently been both thought provoking and funny program.

"It had a very very interesting ending as well, and I think when all is said and done we're going to look back many years from now at this as being a really important contribution to early 21st century television."

Bob Thompson is a founding director of the Bleier Center for Television and Popular Culture and a trustee professor of television and popular culture at Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University.
