President Donald Trump traveled to El Paso, Texas, and Dayton, Ohio, on Wednesday to visit the survivors of the recent mass shootings there that collectively killed 31 people.
Throughout the day, Trump criticized the media, Democrats, and those who called his rhetoric racially provocative.
“Leaving El Paso for the White House. What GREAT people I met there and in Dayton, Ohio. The Fake News worked overtime trying to disparage me and the two trips, but it just didn’t work,” Trump tweeted.
Chuck Todd, the moderator of “Meet the Press”, host of “Meet the Press Daily” on MSNBC, and the political director for NBC News, told Boston Public Radio Thursday that Trump’s divisive language in the face of tragedy “was sadly predictable.”
“He turned grieving into grievances,” Todd said.
