After the school shooting in Parkland, Florida this past February, young people across the country mobilized by fighting for gun control and promising action against politicians who resisted such reforms. The explosion of interest in this issue contributed to a wave of young voters in this year’s midterms, with youth turnout at its highest rate in decades. Among voters of all ages, 60 percent support stricter gun laws. In this past midterm election, at least 15 Republican incumbents in the House who had "A" ratings from the NRA were ousted by Democrats with "F" ratings.
