Donald Trump's legal woes are piling up left and right, and legal experts on Greater Boston said the former president's luck is running out.
Trump is facing a civil lawsuit and criminal referral from the New York attorney general, a Department of Justice probe into classified documents found at Mar-A-Lago, a battle over his tax returns, and an inquiry into potential election interference in Georgia. Those are just some of Trump's legal problems.
"He faces jail time one way or another," said Laurence Tribe, professor emeritus at Harvard Law School.

Tribe said Attorney General Merrick Garland has not been "asleep at the switch" when it comes to Trump, especially in the case of espionage in allegedly keeping classified government documents at Mar-A-Lago.
Trump said in a recent interview with Sean Hannity that he can declassify documents by just "thinking about it."
"Because all of his legal defenses are just nonsense, and they are collapsing one after another, he is resorting in public statements to things like the 'telepathy defense' — the defense that 'I just thought myself out of this dilemma,'" Tribe explained. "None of [these arguments] work. He is incriminating himself over and over and over again."
Retired Federal Judge Nancy Gertner said she has no doubt Garland will indict Trump for keeping sensitive records at Mar-A-Lago. She said the only question will be what happens with sentencing, and what the evidence looks like at that point.
