Nursing is a demanding job in the best of circumstances. But working during the pandemic has taken these strains to a new level. With growing workloads, frequent deaths of patients and daily risks to their own health and safety, many nurses and other health care workers have been grappling with immense stress, fatigue and emotional trauma.
