Protests in Puerto Rico are intensifying, as some in the San Juan crowds last night threw objects at police and officers responded with tear gas.
It was the third time tear gas had been used on crowds since demonstrations began almost two weeks ago, most of which have been peaceful gatherings of people calling for Gov. Ricardo Rosselló's resignation. And while the most immediate catalyst for the protests was the release of damning text messages sent by the governor, political pressure has been building in the U.S. territory for some time now.
