As more and more of the state becomes vaccinated, questions about what life may look like after the pandemic are surfacing. Where will we work? Where will we live? And how will we make it all more equitable?

To help answer these questions and more, the state legislature has formed a committee called Reimagining Massachusetts Post-Pandemic Resiliency. On Tuesday night, it held its first listening session, one of a many it has planned to connect with residents across the state and hear what they want in a post-pandemic Massachusetts.

State Senator Adam Hinds chairs the committee.

"What we'll do is essentially go by topic and geography," Hinds said. "We want to know are we seeing different types of shifts based on the part of the state you're in. And moreover, we really find there are some topics we probably need to find solutions to sooner than later. So that's the topical focus."

Part of planning for a future beyond the pandemic is recognizing how far treatments for COVID-19 have improved since last spring. We heard about this from Dr. Matthias Walz, chair of the Department of Anesthesiology and Perioperative Medicine and the co- chair of the Critical Care Committee for UMass Memorial Healthcare.
