Like most cultural institutions in the state, the Museum of Science, in Cambridge, re-opened in the summer only to close again in the fall. Despite that, no cases were traced back to the musuem when it was open, according to museums president Tim Ritchie.

"You can prevent this from happening," Ritchie said. "This was avoidable for our country, and for our world, to have this community spread. It spread because people didn't follow the science. So we wanted to be an institution where you do follow the science and you do what you need to do to prevent an airborne disease from spreading. And other institutions did the same thing. And we showed that it should have been possible to live safely in COVID times. And the fact that we still have so much community transmission, so much death, is a real avoidable tragedy, and it bothers me deeply."

We also checked in again with Mimi Loureiro, the founder of the O2 Yoga in Somerville, about how the studio re-opened for a few weeks in the fall before voluntarily closing when cases in the city started ticking back up.
