The Massachusetts Bail Fund has come under criticism for posting bail for Shawn McClinton — a man facing rape charges, who was charged with a new rape after being bailed out on July 15. "The general criticism is that there's no sort of qualitative analysis for who they do post bail for," Andrea Cabral told Boston Public Radio on Thursday.
Cabral is the former secretary of public safety and sheriff of Suffolk County. She is currently the CEO of Ascend.
