Are people following the mask guidelines in Massachusetts? As WGBH News found recently, most do wear them when they go into shared indoor spaces like grocery stores. But some are not fully compliant with the state's guidelines to wear masks outside if they cannot remain six feet from others.

Emily Rooney told Boston Public Radio Friday she thinks mask wearing shouldn't be a political issue.

"I wear one because I'm really fearful about getting COVID. That's the only reason," she said. "It's like a seat belt. I didn't like the government telling me to wear a seat belt, let me be very honest about that. ... But I want to do it for my own safety."
