In response to the coronavirus outbreak, Massachusetts Gov. Charlie Baker restricted restaurants and bars to takeout and delivery only. After initially choosing to close during the pandemic, Myers + Chang and select Flour bakeries have now partially reopened for takeout.

Joanne Chang and Christopher Myers, the duo behind Flour Bakery and Myers + Chang, spoke with Boston Public Radio on Friday about their plans.

"[We did] a lot of research [and had] a conviction that we could make the experience as safe as a grocery store experience," Myers said. "We hired a sanitation manager that we gave instructions to make sure that this place is as hygienic as going to the best hospital setting, and that's what we have going on now."

"Our hours are limited, [and] the product line is limited," Chang said. "We don't want to have too many bakers or cooks working at any one time and so we can't do the breadth of our product line."
