CHELSEA, Mass. (AP) — Police say a bank robbery suspect in Massachusetts was nabbed while trying to make his getaway on a bus.
Chelsea police say they got a report of a bank robbery at a TD Bank branch in the city at about 4:30 p.m. Tuesday.
Based on witness descriptions of the suspect, police found 66-year-old Robert Rezendez on a Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority bus in East Boston, which is where he lives.
Police say they recovered money and other evidence from Rezendez at the time of his arrest. No weapon was used in the robbery.
Rezendez was scheduled to be arraigned Wednesday. It was not clear if he had hired an attorney.
