Frank “Cadillac” Salemme, the longtime patriarch of a major New England organized crime family, is currently on trial in federal court in Boston, facing murder charges for a killing that occurred a quarter century ago. Prosecutors are pursuing charges against Salemme, who is accused of ordering the death of Steven DiSarro, the owner of a defunct Boston nightclub. WGBH’s Morning Edition anchor Joe Mathieu discussed the trial — as well as yesterday’s Supreme Court decision on sports betting — with Northeastern law professor and WGBH legal analyst Daniel Medwed.
