O.J. Simpson will soon be a free man.
He's been serving a prison term of nine to 33 years for armed robbery in Nevada.
Yesterday, Nevada's parole board granted him his freedom. He is now set to be released from prison as early as October 1st.
Attorney Alan Dershowitz, a professor emeritus at Harvard Law School, was a member of Simpson's defense team more than 20 years ago when Simpson was tried and acquitted for the murders of his ex-wife, Nicole Brown Simpson, and her friend, Ron Goldman.
Dershowitz spoke with WGBH News' Henry Santoro about Simpson, the effect of his double-murder trial on American culture, and whether President Trump has asked him for legal help as he deals with Special Counsel Robert Mueller's Russia investigation.
