Throughout his presidential campaign and since taking office, President Donald Trump has consistently promoted an “America First” policy. To that end, he announced Thursday that the United States is pulling out of the Paris Climate Accord — a multi-national agreement to reduce emissions —arguing it is a bad deal for America.

The move comes on the heels of last week’s meeting with European leaders, which many have described as contentious. German Chancellor Angel Merkel declared shortly after that her country can no longer rely on the “others,” which has many worried that America’s days as a global leader are numbered.
