Boston Public Radio's series of ballot question debates wraps up this week with a focus on Question 4, which proposes a change to the state's marijuana laws.

Massachusetts decriminalized possession of marijuana in 2008, and medical marijuana was legalized in 2012. This November's ballot question would legalize recreational marijuana. We are among four other states that are voting on this subject this year, and four states—including D.C.—already have legalized recreational marijuana.

Debating both sides of the issue were Rahsaan Hall, the Director of the Racial Justice Program for the American Civil Liberties Union of Massachusetts, who supports legalization, and State Senator Jason Lewis, who is opposed.

Previously, Boston Public Radio's ballot question debates have covered Question 1 on  expanding gambling in the state, Question 2 on  raising the cap on charter schools, and Question 3 on cage-free livestock.
