Back to school means homework but how much is too much? Author of The Homework Myth, Alfie Kohn, and Nancy E. Hill discuss.

Kohn questioned if children should be asked to work a second shift of academics when they get home from a full day of school. He said no research has found a benefit of homework, below the high school level. "Homework may be the greatest extinguisher of excitement about learning, ever," he said.

Hill said that they can agree that the idea of kids doing homework late into the evening, is not helpful. However, she said, there are some benefits to homework, such as repeated practice of a skill.
